“Coach Collins was born and raised in Salt Lake city, Utah. When he was fifteen, he moved to Oklahoma where he finished high school and then went to Witchita State University on a basketball scholarship. After one year as a Shocker, he transferred to Mcpherson college in Kansas where he received his bachelors in “exercise science” with a minor in business. After the Kansas stint, he moved back to Utah and got his teaching certificate from Utah state university in 1999. Coach Collins started his coaching career at Alta and after one year went over to Hillcrest where he helped the Huskies achieve back to back region championships in 2005 and 2006. Coach Collins hopes he can bring the same level of play here to Cyprus as he is the current head basketball coach. Coach Collins was recently married to Mechele Bosco Collins. They have two girls, Lindsay is 16 and attends Hillcrest, and Kaitlin is nine. They currently reside in Sandy.”
